Leaving foster care shouldn’t mean facing life alone. Rebuilding your life shouldn’t either. At I AM SHE, we stand beside women preparing to leave or who have aged out of foster care, and women who are unhoused and working to get back on their feet. Their journeys may be different, but each deserves practical tools, dependable support, and people who care about what comes next.
This blog is a place for useful ideas and encouragement you can put into practice. We’ll explore confidence, everyday life skills, preparing for work, building connections, and taking the next manageable step. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin.
Start with one question: What would make this week a little easier? It might be organizing the information you need for a job application, choosing one spending goal, or reaching out to someone you trust. Choose a step small enough to take with the time and resources you have today.
Our pay-it-forward approach recognizes that giving and receiving support can happen together. A woman may share a skill while learning something new herself. Support is never something she has to earn or repay. Every woman has something to offer, and every woman has room to grow.
